The school has the services of a counsellor 3 days a week who provides a range of services from discussion about issues of concern to isometric testing.
Contact with the counsellor can be on the initiation of the parent or from the school through the special needs team. Close contact is maintained with parents in all circumstances.
The School Board endorses the wearing of a uniform as it is part of the school ethos of helping to create a sense of belonging and pride in the school and so engender a positive school spirit.
School Uniform Shop
Parents can buy school uniforms both new and secondhand from the school Uniform Shop which operates out of the canteen each Wednesday from 8.45-9.15am. Orders can be placed 24/7 online through Flexischools and delivered to your child in the classroom to bring home.
Members of the school community run the student banking program on a voluntary basis. Banking is conducted through the Commonwealth Bank.
Bank books are collected from the classrooms once a week and returned via the classroom teacher.
Miles Franklin follows the sun protection guidelines for schools – no hat no play.
Students are required to wear hats which protect the face, neck and ears whenever they are outside. Students without suitable hats are not allowed to play outside at recess or lunch, ort participate in classroom physical education activities.
