Staff

MFOSHC is managed on a daily basis by the Centre Director (Nominated Supervisor), overseen and supported by the P&C Operations Manager and a team consisting of:

Approved Provider / Management Committee

MFOSHC operates in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and National Standards and also with the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE) for Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

MFOSHC is a not-for-profit organisation, overseen by Miles Franklin P&C Association Inc as the Approved Provider.

An Annual General Meeting is held early in each school year, at which time office bearers and committee members are elected. Without a full committee the centre can not run.

Committee meetings are held in weeks 3 and 8 of each term at the Miles Franklin Primary School. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend committee meetings. Notices of meetings are published in the MFPS newsletter.

MFOSHC invites parents/carers to attend all meetings and minutes are available from mfpandc@outlook.com.

Enrolment

Enrolment Forms are available from the MFOSHC Centre during opening hours (or printable from the MFPS website dropbox). Enquiries can be made by contacting the Centre on mfoshc@outlook.com or 6258 0977.  Once forms are submitted, families will have an online account set up using a software program called XAP.  Details are emailed to the families providing access once registered with MFOSHC. A copy of our parent handbook will also be emailed to enrolling families.

Enrolments are subject to the availability of places. We run on a “first in first served” basis and permanent over casual bookings. Therefore, we advise to complete enrolment forms and returned as soon as possible.

We have a yearly enrolment day in term 4 for the following year.  Enrolments open at 7am and submitted via email to the Centre.  Parents/carers will be contacted by email approximately one week after enrolment day to be advised of a successful or unsuccessful placement for their child/ren.

We will be unable to hold your child’s place if you need to remove your child from MFOSHC for any extended period.  This means if you want to remove your child from MFOSHC for a long period of time such as for an extended holiday or for a period of maternity leave, we will be unable to hold your place unless you continue to pay the regular fees. This allows other families who need care to be able to access it through MFOSHC and for us to maintain a stable staff.

Permanent days are ongoing weekly bookings (attend set days every week).  We are unable to offer alternate weeks of care or different days across weeks. Sessions must be the same for both weeks of the billing period.  There are options for casual care where irregular care requirements are needed.

Casual days are one-off bookings and include sessions extra to your regular days. Casual users must apply in advance via the casual care booking form of their requirements to use the Program. Use of the Program is subject to the availability of places for that day. Please note: you may cancel a casual booking by advising MFOSHC at least 24 hours before the booking that the place is no longer required. You will be charged for the place if you book and do not cancel, regardless of whether your child attends or not.

Child Care Subsidy is available to all families registered with Centrelink. For information on Child Care Subsidy please contact your nearest Centrelink/Family Assistance Office Ph: 136 150.  Confirmation of enrolment and CCS is accessed through MyGov.

Cancelling Care

We have a 2 week cancellation of care policy. 2 weeks notice is required to cancel a permanent booking without financial penalty.  Attendance during this period especially on the last day is required to be eligible for CCS.

Fees

Fees are set by the Committee. Every effort is made to keep them at a minimum.  Fee increases may occur during the year to ensure quality of care and the continued financial viability of MFOSHC.
